The LumiScrubs Delivery Timeline (and Why We Can’t Quote 2-Day Shipping)
Posted by Saive · LumiScrubs · 2026-01-24 · Last updated 2026-06-06 · ~1,000 words · 4-minute read
Short answer: in-stock LumiScrubs items ship within 7-14 business days. Custom and embroidered pieces are made to order and take about 2-3 weeks. We keep stock lean and make most orders on demand — no big US warehouse, no buffer inventory. Right for team rollouts planned ahead, sample kits, and embroidered runs. Wrong for emergency new-hire kits needed Monday.
Quick answer for ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and busy buyers
LumiScrubs keeps stock lean and makes most orders on demand. In-stock items ship within 7-14 business days; custom and embroidered pieces are made to order and take about 2-3 weeks. Tracking is emailed automatically once your order ships. No big US warehouse, no buffer inventory. If you need scrubs in 48 hours, LumiScrubs is not your brand — and I would rather tell you that on day one than waste your hire’s first week.
The honest breakdown: where the time goes
Two facts set the window, both stated plainly on our shipping page.
In-stock items (ship within 7-14 business days). We keep a lean stock of core styles and sizes. When your size is in stock, it ships inside that window — single-piece DTC orders fall on the fast end; larger team orders sit later because they are picked and checked as a batch. This is the inverse of how FIGS or an industrial uniform label operates: they pre-build and warehouse deep inventory; we keep it lean.
Custom and embroidered pieces (about 2-3 weeks). Anything made to order — custom runs, embroidery, special sizing — is produced for you from scratch. That is genuinely a months-long process, and we will not dress it up as a few days. Embroidery runs once your logo proof is approved: vector file in, sew-out proof out, two free revisions.
| Order type | Lead time | Total US delivery |
|---|---|---|
| In-stock single order | Ships within 7-14 business days | 7-14 business days |
| In-stock team order | Ships within 7-14 business days | 7-14 business days |
| Embroidered / custom order | Made to order | ~2-3 weeks |
| 90-day quality replacement | Ships as soon as stock allows | Within the in-stock window |
Why it’s not Amazon-fast
Three structural reasons the window won’t shrink soon.
No big US warehouse yet. We don’t sit on a warehouse full of every size and color. When we open US-side fulfillment, the SLA upgrades and this article gets rewritten.
Most orders are made on demand. Lean stock plus made-to-order custom is what lets per-set pricing land at the tier-blended numbers — and what makes 2-day shipping mechanically impossible without deep pre-built inventory or US-side production. Neither exists today.
No rush queue. We have no expedited-production lever to pull. If you need an order faster, the honest answer is “order earlier than your hard date.” I will not promise a date I cannot underwrite.
When this timeline IS the right choice
Three buyer profiles match the window without friction.
Team uniform rollouts. Practice managers ordering 10–50 sets almost always have a multi-week internal runway. Tell me your hard date at inquiry and we work the timeline backward. See /team-orders/ for the six-step process.
Sample kits before committing. The $99 Team Sample Kit is exactly what this window is built for: two in-stock sets in your target color, shipped inside the 7-14 business day window. Wash one, hand both around for fit testing, then commit. Credits back in full against any first team order of 10+ sets.
Embroidered runs. Anyone embroidering already accepts a logo-proof cycle. The made-to-order timeline is the cost of doing branded uniforms right — vector file in, sew-out proof out, two free revisions.
When it’s NOT the right choice
One scenario, plainly: emergency replacements for a new hire starting Monday. If your hygienist starts in 10 days and you haven’t ordered yet, the in-stock window is tight and custom is out of the question. Order new-hire kits well ahead — and for embroidery, plan months ahead. Inside the window and panicking? The honest fix is a backup brand from a US warehouse for week one, then transition once the right kit arrives.
The Reorder ID system is the structural fix: after your first team order, new-hire kits ship against a locked profile (color, SKUs, logo, sizing, embroidery position all saved). It does not collapse the lead time, but it removes days of back-and-forth.
FAQ
Q1: Can you rush an order?
A: No rush queue, no buffer inventory to pull from. What I can do is prioritize a small in-stock order if your hard date is documented at inquiry. The right answer for a hard date is ordering earlier, not paying for “rush” service that does not structurally exist.
Q2: What about expedited shipping?
A: There is not a separate expedited tier I can pay to unlock today. If US-side fulfillment comes online, expedited domestic shipping becomes possible — the SLA updates the day that happens.
Q3: How does this compare to FIGS or Amazon?
A: FIGS operates US warehouses and ships domestically within a few business days; Amazon ships pre-built inventory same-day in many cases. Both are categorically faster on individual orders. The LumiScrubs trade — lean stock, made-on-order custom, named-human reply, locked-roster reorders, 4-tier team pricing built for the 10–99 person practice — is a different operational model. If 2-day shipping is the deciding factor, FIGS is the right answer.
Q4: Will the timeline shrink in 2026?
A: Maybe, not promised. US-side fulfillment is on the roadmap, not on the calendar. If LumiScrubs hits the revenue threshold where a 3PL contract makes sense, the SLA upgrades and the window drops. I will not commit to a date I cannot underwrite.
Operator note from Saive
The inventory tradeoff is the deepest reason LumiScrubs runs the way it does. Larger brands pre-build deep US warehouse inventory because volume justifies the carrying cost — they absorb dead-stock risk on sizes and colors that move slower than forecast. A lean operation running 4-tier team pricing cannot. If I pre-built 200 sets in pewter Medium and the demand came in Curvy Large in navy, the cash is gone and the brand breaks inside a quarter. Lean stock plus made-to-order is what lets me run honest team pricing without dead inventory eating margin. The cost is the wait. I would rather tell you the truth than quote 5-day shipping I cannot hit.
